Key2Nest is committed to making our mortgage services and digital presence accessible to people with disabilities. Home financing is one of the most consequential decisions a person can make, and we believe every borrower deserves equal access to clear information, calculators, and personal guidance — regardless of how they use the web.

1. Conformance Target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and referenced by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

2. What We've Built In

This Site has been designed with accessibility in mind. Specifically:

• Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields, calculators, FAQ toggles) are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
• Screen reader support: semantic HTML, descriptive headings (H1–H3), labeled form fields, ARIA labels on icon-only controls, and a skip-to-main-content link.
• Color contrast: body text, controls, and key UI elements meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios against background colors.
• Reduced motion: animations, parallax, and video respect the prefers-reduced-motion system setting — users who have requested less motion get a static experience.
• Responsive design: the Site adapts cleanly from 320px-wide phones to wide desktop displays, with no horizontal scroll or fixed-pixel traps.
• Scalable text: font sizes use relative units so users can zoom or scale text without breaking layout.
• Calculators: every interactive control is operable by keyboard and reads sensibly to a screen reader, with results announced via live regions where applicable.

3. Known Limitations

We continue to test and improve the Site. Areas where we are still working include:

• The hero background video does not include captions because it contains no spoken content. It is decorative and disabled for users with prefers-reduced-motion.
• The donut chart in the mortgage payment calculator presents data primarily through color; the same information is repeated in the numerical breakdown below it.
